of course ,..stuff happened since my last update but really... no mood to talk abt any of it...just the usual rendition of tears and laughter...
but something worth mentioning happened on one Saturday,where I went to Ira's sch. She was a subject prize winner for English in the Express Stream for last year.Besides being a prize giving day, the sch was also celebrating its 30th Anniversary. We were supposed to be seated in the hall by 7.40am but then again, SOMETHING happened to spoil the morning.She went off to sch 1st to get ready for her Band Performance.In the meantime, we got ready.Suddenly,I got cramps and was not able to - I repeat - not able to even walk. So frustrated.I told myself I'm not gonna miss this for anything,including the damn cramp.But seriously,the pain deteriorated and I gotta "rest" for a while..b4 u know it,...we were running late.I told myself that even if I have to fake a face,I'm really gonna drag myself there.Upon reaching the sch,I literally rushed to the hall, just in time to see that Ira HAD ALREADY RECEIVED HER PRIZE!....AARRGGHHH!!!!!
U have no idea how frustrated I was. If only. If only I had reached there about a few mins earlier, I would have witnessed her big moment. Altho this was not her 1st time, I have always made a point to be there when my girls went up to any stage to receive any prize of any form.But this was the 1st time I missed it! I cursed myself for it.Felt so apologetic to her but she gave me a rather forgiving look from her seat.Felt like giving myself and hub a punch. (Well, I gotta share/shift the blame on somebody, shouldn't I?)
But then, its ok..most important,I was and am still proud of her. Went about the sch to savour what the sch had put up for the day. Shows, extravaganzas, games stalls, exhibits - u name it...but the best one has got to be the food that has been catered for everyone.There For the parents, ours was located on the 3rd flr and I think I was certainly the 1st to dig in because obviously,when I opened the 1st buffet tray, it was still untouched!...seriously, the food was goooooooooooddd!!!..there was so much food,I now remembered that I forgot to eat some of them!..hehe...Anyway,lots of Kudos to the sch and the caterer : delihubcatering.com.sg
Halal lah.... The embarrassing part? Me and adik tried to smuggle some delicious éclairs but they got squashed in my bag and therefore, I gotta throw them...so sayang...dolat agaknya...but then again,kita bukan curi apa...kan memang diberi makan kan?..

Went to melawat.
I lost another relative younger than me today.Pity.
Went from late morning to evening.
I felt drained....really drained....
Didn't eat the whole day.Just had a bottle of mineral water.Legs go wobbly after hours of waiting.After the funeral,the reality checked in. Felt like passing out on the way back.
Oh....by the way, I was alone. So alone. So lonely.
Do u know what is the feeling of being lonely?...

Festival of Ideas

Yet another time lapse....

Anyway,...before the start of the new Semester,..I was sent to MOE for the 2008 ExcelFest focus group discussion on how to further improve and enhance next year's festival.Was thrilled to share new ideas and we had a good brainstorming session.My team came up with a pretty good slogan fit enough to be considered by the Exco. The Green Apples (that was what we call ourselves)comprised of myself as the Group Leader, Georgina as the Table Host, and members Joan, Sheila, Elizabeth and Nurul. The best moment for me was when my team was saved for last and while giving the speech during my presentation, the i-studio which housed around 40 of us, roared with supportive applause. We were only given 10mins to draft our ideas but I took a max of 25 to deliver my speech. Members from the other teams stopped me in my tracks to compliment our points.It took about 2 and a half hours for the whole session to wrap up,in which refreshments were provided but I did not take a single bite...oh well,..I'm not missing it..

Took some lame pictures along the way,coz we were in a hurry to finish the given tasks.When I emailed the pics to the rest of them, Elizabeth called me "Brainy"...reminds me of one of the Smurfs with that big, black glasses over his blue face...hehe..
All in all,..had a great time and our team proved to stand out among the rest when we came up with : "ASPIRE TO INSPIRE"

Had a meeting in school about TB. Finished quite late but then, Cikgu Khaziah wanted to 'wind down'...so we went to JP for dinner...Mula2 ingat nak makan kat Banquet aje but then ntah sape ntah yg dah recommend Delifrance..so we went there.Plus Ros and Sally. Cikgu bayar in the end...tak puas ah...with that amount, bole makan raya cina kat Banquet...Delifrance punya serving portion punya sikit....anjing tengok pun fed up tak kenyang...tapi bukan salah cikgu...salahnya Delifrance...kasi setotet let gitu,taruk harga mahal nak mampos,..tapi sikit nak mampos jugak...ah ngkau...fed up aku...anyway,...i had a chicken mayo sandwich,mushroom soup,and cappucino..nampak macam banyak ...tapi tak sangat...mula2 ingat nak expresso...tapi bila dah sampai, tekejut beruk bila tengok cawan dia..punya lah kecik...agaknya lipas nak kencing pun, tak muat...terus tak tunggu...tukar order...makanan dia tak worth it la....too ex for something very little...tapi the nite was good becoz kita ngumpat about the meeting...berbakul umpat...sebab tu tak kenyang...tak berkat agaknya...hehe..

June holidays...
In short,...I did nothing...except it was a month of check-ups, check-ups and more check-ups for my in-laws...we siblings had a rotating roster to send them to and fro...A very boring month...Thot of doing a spring cleaning but oh...what the heck...kids had camp, supplementary classes, and stuff like that and therefore we had no quality time outside,..a.k.a holidays...so I just brought them to JP to shop for some garbs and stuff...and that's abt it...pretty sad but the kids understand..

well,...did a bit of stuff in the kitchen. Got the kids to get messy.

into an oven @ 175 deg. c.
cool them on a wire rack
heavenly beautiful chewy double choco chunk cookies...



made some Roti John yg sedap nak mampos...hehe...
take some broccoli, yellow courgettes, carrots and lemon
some dory fillets
coat with tempura batter and deep fry
a dollop of tartare sauce (or add chopped capers/gherkins to some mayo)and u got yrself a set of my all-time fave = fish & chips

spread some garlic-herbed-butter onto slices of french baguettes,wrap in foil and grilled
skewer shrimps that are marinated in lemon juice + my secret self-made marinade
grill shrimps in oven. Grill some chicken marinated in the same marinade too.
after about 20 mins or so, this is what u get
with some veggie, u got yrself a pretty filling meal

oh..I remembered...19th May..I was supposed to celebrate Mothers' Day. It was also the month where we celebrate birthday Boy, Ira, Haris, and entah sape lagi...semuanya birthday bulan May. It was also the month of the year that I go broke becoz we are supposed to give all the anak2 sedara punya birthday gift..secara serentak..tak kira dorang punya birthday bulan berapa,..termasuk si Boy yang dah tua bangka tu....adoi...bankrupt giler...walaupun semuanya 9, PLUS ,..my mum punya, dah kira 10...takkan sorang satu hadiah $9.90 punya value ajekan?....apa2 pun,...jgn cakap kocek koyak,..ATM card pun bole retak seribu...tapi,...jgn cakap macam tu ana,...hati mesti ihklas.

...we had dinner at a buffet restaurant in Tampines Mall.Actually,...a lot happened..but I'll just say it was a really damn good restaurant with an equal standard of good food. Althought it was supposed to be a happy nite for me, it ended drastically dramatic,...but hub managed to coax me and calm my sulking...the only thing that kept me happy was the smiles on my girls' faces when they got their presents, adik's star-brite eyes when we bought her a frappucino from Starbuck's on our way home and the good food of the resto....malas nak cakap banyak2...

time to update....i hate to do this when u're being slapped with a time lapse of over a month!...ANYWAY.....
don't really remember much what really happened in May and June...
besides going to anak June punya birthday,...alamak...cakap pasal ni,..I'm not sure what happened...suddenly,..the rest of us macam nak celebrate Earth Day pulak...Everyone wore green!...
except for June..dono why she wore a grey number,but takpelah..the best part,...it was TOTALLY unplanned..sumpah!

Tickets, please....

it was May Day and instead of basking the holiday watching tv, we went to CCK to have a family meeting....which resulted in me organising a family nite out for a movie and a bowling session for the following Saturday, 5th May. Everyone was excited as we decided to watch 'Jangan Pandang Belakang'. After calculating the expenses and doing some homework, it was decided that we will be watching the 9.30pm show @ GV Marina,with the bowling alley conveniently located right next to it. We rented a van from kawan Senah to accomodate the Jurong West lot and the Bukit Panjang pair.Hubby drove us. Went bowling 1st b4 catching the show

Aku tak main...takde form la...budak2 je yg rembat..target kat longkang.. Nenen pun sama...mula2 cakap berapi-api...cakap macam champion...ngalahkan Shalin Zulkifli....tapi main macam amateur je...masuk longkang jugak...


Yg kelakarnya, semua pakai baju macam nak pergi Cameron Highland. Satu2 nampak macam orang demam.Pakai sweater

Keluarga Kak Ju also joined us..so sweet of her...

tapi when its time to go in, semua macam dah tak sabar...kelakar bila Tipah pegi kencing. Tickets are with her...meanwhile, semua muka dah senget...takut ketinggalan the intro..satu2 merungut...mana tiket? sape pegang tiket?..bila dah masuk, padan muka kita pasal kena tengok ebetais (advertisement)nak dekat setengah jam...wayang belum start,..makanan dah nak abis...hehe.. We accomodated about 30 seats. Tapi bila semua dah berkobar2 nak seramkan diri sendiri by watching that show, suara spoiler si UL, Jamal, Jai, dan beberapa org lagi buat aku macam nak sumbat mulut satu2 dgn popcorn yg dah kebanyakkannya dah bertaburan atas lantai. Potong steam orang je. I'm sure a lot of the other movie-goers pun bingit dgn suara2 spoiler ni tapi atas dasar our big number, they just kept quiet.Geramnya simpan dalam ati je. Ape ke taknya...orang dah takut2 nak tutup mata, dorang buat kelakar...kuat pulak tu..ape sajer..Bukan aper...orang semua dah penat2 fork out $9.50 for the thrill, and even more for the popcorn, tiba2 datang satu group of family ni,..buat huru hara satu panggung...hai..buat malu kampeni je...nasib korang la..
tapi..ape2 pun,..fun jugak la..lepas tgk wayang, we went to Bt Timah to have a late nite supper at Al-Ameen ke ape agaknya gitu la...balik nak dekat 3 pagi...macam orang baru balik dangdut la.....hehe
lepas dat nite,...I fell sick...again...

tapi...that was a good nite...a very good family nite out...

to be frank,...i cannot recall what are the things that really happened in a chronological order....most of the highlight has been stolen by my mum-in-law, in which she was admitted in and out of the hospital for a series of ......let me see....excessive vomitting, a fractured wrist, excessive vomitting again,...and again,i wud be at the front seat of the ambulance,and the rest of us wud be spending 2 days and 1 nite @ the A & E,compliments from the hospital...
For some reason, she wud always be sent around either before maghrib,or after that...and we wud only go home in the wee hours of the following morning...followed with another series of outpatient appointments....
Not to be outdone is father-in-law,who also went for a surgery to remove a rather hyperactive sebaceous gland that grew along his spine.But it was quite superficial.And he's doing fine...he was instructed by the doctor not to work anymore...and that was his final wake up call and is hereby , FINALLY , out of a job. I wish him a fast recovery and a joyous 2nd retirement.
As for me,...mm..i gotta go 4 a heart scan in July. In the meantime,highly administered to take anti-coagulants,also known as blood thinners, muscle-relaxing tabs,and the ever dreadful nitrate that crushes my brain every time i gotta take it.Major headache.But its part of the side effects and I'm keeping my hopes and prayers up high for a very favourable result.I can do this. I WILL get better and I CERTAINLY can.Still,...I hate the medicines...urgh!...hari2 makan, rasa macam kena telan kapur barus!
Anyway,..say a little prayer for me to get well soon...(insya Allah)

The Reunion

On Saturday,14th April, Nurshirin finally managed to coax me into attending my 1st ever high school reunion.Actually,my schoolmates have been begging for my response via email....they emailed me everything but I responded with nothing...why?...don't ask...i just don't feel like it...not trying to act snobbish but i kind of felt embarrased in exposing myself after all these years...err...let me rephrase that...not exposing, but rather..presenting myself ...maklumlah,...orang makan roti, kita makan ibu roti...bila dah gebu,...dah tak tau macam mana nak bawak diri...hehe...

ANYWAY - mula2 i dowan to go..but after looking at the long list of enthusiastic ex-school members who are confirming their attendance,plus,with the info of their marital status and their multiplying families,PLUS,i felt bored that day,I finally took the plunge and went...WITHOUT my husband and the kids..hubby had studio work and the kids had their own show to catch.So off I went to Aloha Bungalow 9 @ Pasir Ris. Was welcomed with the warmest hugs and cheers and loads of shrieks..of joy..

I cried in my heart when our Mami/Organiser Norain Rafie, pasted all the photos of us back in the good old days of the 80s on the wall perpendicular to the buffet.Spent hours oggling at the photos in which I looked so damn 'jambu'.hehe...takde sape nak puji,so puji diri sendiri la....tak salah ape...bukan curi barang sape2 kan...Met up with Linda Bedak Yardley skrg dah kurus ,Rasuati is now known as Ramizah,Sarina Rawi yg dari dulu sampai sekarang cakapnya masih macam tu,Aidah pun tak byk berubah,Rosmi lagi tak berubah,Zarina makin mamamia,and ramai lagi..sori girls...kalau I tak include yr name,it doesn't mean that I tak acknowledge u....As 4 the guys,...Kader yg sekarang dah botak tapi masih giler2,Rosli Ayam Belanda yang skrg macam Superstar Rajnikanth ..kira hero keling lah...Faizal Mahfuz aka Ketam Busuk yg masih tak kawin2...Azhar Kecik yg sekarang dah tinggi,..Khairi Rohani yg sekarang dah jadi tauke sushi,..Zaidi Jambul yg sampai skrg masih maintain dia punya vanity..Zaidi Rosni yg skrg macam tertinggal gigi..Fahmi Sepaktakraw yg sekarang masih tebal gusi..adoi...macam2 orang la...pendek kata, orang dengan makanan sama banyak...cakap pasal makanan...

YA ALLAH...tak sempat makan sangat sey...dah terlalu banyak tapi bahananya kena bebual2 dgn kekawan lama, maka tak sempat nak baham semua...tapi memang dasyat!..Thank u Norain and the rest of the gang who made this possible...ade lucky draw...menang tau!..lucky number 7!.


dapat photo frame..cute..tapi sampai sekarang masih belum isi dengan apa2...nanti la...ada nyanyi2 karaoke..tapi belum sempat si Rosli nak nyanyi,rosak pulak playernya...kecian..satay dia sedap tapi bakar2,..asik2 tinggal lidi je...ada tiup kek untuk those April babies..


tapi dorang malu2 sangat,I just melutut down there and tiup the candles...hehe...it feels good to blow out someone's candles..pasal diri sendiri tak pernah ada befday...kira balas dendam la...
Mula2 malu jugak kena ejek dah 'tembam'...tapi aku tengok ramai jugak yang dah makan yeast,..jadi kira orait jugak la..ramai 'geng' senasib..apa dorang ingat senang ke aku nak pelihara baby fat ni?..bertahun tau!..hehe...yg laki2..tak banyak yang da gemuk,..cuma ramai yg dah hilang rambut atau hilang gigi...nasib baik belum ada yang hilang akal...selisih!..hehe...



apa2 pun, I had a wonderful time and would regret if I shud miss out the party..cuma i perasan anak2 dorang masih kecik2...ramai yg beranak 2 atau 3....tapi tak bole lawan Noraini la...beranak 5!...boleh tahan...macam padi malinje..hehe..jgn marah noraini...gurau aje...
ape2 pun, i am thankful that they still remembered me...and we all managed to gel like family...i am even more thankful to see that kitorang masih macam dulu jugak..giler2...walaupun dah beranak penak.....

Looking forward to more reunions ahead..dan sepatah kata Kader,in 30 years' time,kita punya reunion patut adakan race...in wheelchairs!...(stay strong,my weak heart)
